Striated Ware Urn

All of these urns are meant to evoke the mystery of nature. This urn, in complex hues of orange and blue, suggests patterned clouds in a sunrise–and also wave currents, water, tides, and the swirling patterns of migration. Perhaps you see birds or fish in it. Over all, the crescent moon calmly presides.

The Striated Ware series is an exciting new development. These are slab-built urns whose surface is as incredibly rich, and as varied as a cut stone.  The form has a relaxed quality that comes from freely hand-modeling the clay slabs.

To calculate whether an urn is large enough, you should figure about 1 cubic inch per pound of living body weight. This urn holds 150 cubic inches.  It would also be sufficient for a larger person’s cremains if some of the ashes are scattered or divided amongst loved ones.
