This little vessel evokes the feeling of Egyptian faience—copper-blue ceramic sculpture. The Egyptians often placed miniature boats in tombs, to help the departed in their afterworld voyage. It sits freely in a stand symbolizing the waters through which the soul will journey. Like all the pieces in this collection, it is a one-of-a-kind artwork.
The boat can hold approximately 6 tablespoons of cremains. You can use it as a reliquary (memorial urn) for keeping a small, precious quantity of ashes after the rest have been scattered or divided. Alternatively, it could be used for holding a special keepsake.
