Description
height 10 – 1/2″ x width 5 – 1/2″
volume approximately 9 – 1/2 cups, or 137 cubic inches
The heron, symbol of purity, wisdom and patience, stands quietly beneath the trees.
The urn is part of the saltfire series, made from white stoneware and carefully carved into intricate patterns reminiscent of carved ivory. Because salt firing is highly variable, colors are paler or deeper in different parts of the urn.
To calculate whether an urn is large enough, you should figure about 1 cubic inch per pound of living body weight. This urn holds 137 cubic inches. If ashes are partially scattered or divided, the urn would also be sufficient for a larger person’s cremains.
